Season’s Greetings

Dear ITI Fellows and Members,

As 2024 draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a strong and eventful year for the ITI and to share our aspirations as we look ahead to 2025 and beyond.

ITI World Symposium 2024

The highlight of the year was undoubtedly the ITI World Symposium in Singapore, the largest ITI World Symposium ever and the first to be held in Asia. More than 5,500 dental professionals from over 100 countries met to exchange knowledge and ideas. Together, we experienced the strength of our global network and the diversity and innovation of our field. It powerfully confirmed the strong need for reliable evidence-based information that the ITI delivers as part of its mission.

ITI President-elect: Rony Jung

Another highlight of 2024 was the election of the upcoming ITI President. It gives me great pleasure to know that I will be passing on the ITI baton in May 2025 to Rony Jung –a passionate and enthusiastic ITI Fellow whose forward-looking leadership and visionary thinking will steer the organization into a prosperous future. Rony’s capacity to listen, invite open discussion when exploring ideas towards an optimal consensus can only be to the ITI’s advantage.

Growth with purpose

As our global community continues to grow, it is important to note that we are not defined just by growth, but by growth that goes hand in hand with quality. This is our guarantee that the highest standards of implant dentistry are adhered to in every initiative that we undertake. In concrete terms that means fostering the essence of the ITI’s philosophy – evidence-based care with a focus on patient-centered outcomes – and bringing it to an ever-broadening audience.

These principles are reflected in our 2025–2030 strategy – currently in its final stages of preparation – which aims to balance expansion with excellence. With a clear focus on fostering leadership, innovation and global collaboration, this strategy ensures that the ITI will remain a leading force in implant dentistry for years to come.

As always, at the heart of our strategy is our enduring commitment to our purpose of “inspiring global excellence in implant dentistry for the benefit of the patient”. These words encapsulate everything we stand for and strive to achieve.

Collaborative achievements

2024 also saw strong progress in our work on the Global Consensus Clinical Guidelines (GCCG) project. Partnering with the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) and the Osteology Foundation, we have laid the foundation for developing comprehensive evidence-driven, immediately applicable guidelines for clinicians to enhance patient outcomes worldwide. This collaboration exemplifies the ITI’s openness to working with like-minded organizations beyond our own ranks, further amplifying our global impact. The first joint GCCG conference will take place in June 2025, focusing on the treatment of the edentulous maxilla.

Looking Ahead

As we move towards 2025, regional development, mentorship opportunities and digital transformation to improve accessibility to our vast knowledge base and educational resources remain central. Our journey is one of continuous learning, adaptation and innovation, and we are grateful to be part of such a dedicated community that is working together to shape the future of implant dentistry.

Whether you are an ITI Fellow or Member, active locally in your Section or Study Club, or globally in a Committee or task force, you are a cornerstone of our community, our ITI family. Keep on inspiring and engaging others to adopt the ITI philosophy and provide patients with the best possible care.

My warm regards and very best wishes to everyone in our global ITI family for a positive, strong and healthy 2025.

Charlotte Stilwell

ITI President
